When I was a teenager my mother was ALWAYS on me about a skin care routine. She would take me to Sephora, pretty much annually, and we would run through the checklist of what I needed in my routine: Acne? Dry skin? Oily? Don’t forget the moisturizer with sunscreen!
I never understood why just washing my face with soap and water wasn’t good enough. However, now at 23 I look to the heavens and say (like many others do as they get older), “Mom, you were totally right.”
Much to my frustration my skin has become more of a hassle as I’ve gotten older. Sometimes I believe I went backwards in the teenage/ acne era of my life – and I know I’m not the only one with this frustration. Not to mention people are starting to talk to me about wrinkle prevention (is this real life)?! So, now more than ever I have begun to focus on the health of my skin.
About a year two years ago I focused on using predominately natural products without all of those chemicals. Not only is my skin troublesome, it’s really sensitive too. Any one else have this problem? Because it’s a real pain in the you-know-what.
As we all know… this stuff ain’t cheap and I can’t even start to think about how much I have spent on skin-care in 23 years of life. However, in the endless products that stock the shelves of beauty and drug stores, I am always on a mission to find moderately priced skin care that actually makes a difference and I can tell my friends about.
So, what’s in my skin-care routine right now? Here are a few products I’ve been loving and hope help you decide what to invest in next time you’re skin care shopping 🙂
