Good morning lovely people!
I know what you’re thinking:
What is this all about? Yet ANOTHER blog on my social media? Are you kidding me?
I know, I know but let me explain…
Life after undergrad has been pretty crazy. In this last year, I’ve had conversations with friends, family, and coworkers that have really put into perspective how much changes when you find yourself in the real world at 22, staring down avenues that could lead you to where you want to be, or somewhere you never thought you would. There have been many new and exciting adventures, as well as new challenges.
The biggest challenge? Beginning to find out who I was now that I was here. What do I see for myself? What do I see as important? What do I want to invest my time in? What the heck do I want to be when I grow up?
More importantly, WHO do I want to be when I grow up?
However, I have realized that no matter where we find ourselves in life, most of us are just trying to be better than we were the day before or the month before… or a year ago. We all have the desire to be at peace with ourselves, to be content with where we stand in this moment.
Personally, my biggest fears have always been letting life pass by without acting on the things I’ve always wanted to chase – no matter how big or small those may be, without learning all that I can from the world around me, or sharing myself authentically.
I have been extremely fortunate to not only be surrounded by examples of people who succeed in doing these things every day, but exist in a support system that has always encouraged me to do the same.
So, my challenge to myself?
Work every day to be my personal best.
I wanted to create this blog to document the new (good and bad), share the people in my life who never cease to amaze me, empower others and BE empowered by others, push myself (and maybe inspire someone else) to try new things, and last but not least – to hold myself accountable for working towards my #personalbest
Every. Damn. Day.
